What does community leadership mean to you/your business?

Community leadership to C2 Operations is a part of our firm’s social responsibility. We believe a portion of our time as a firm should be spent to engage and help strengthen our community through volunteering, sponsorships, donations, mentorships, and partnerships.

Share with us who/what your inspiration is in making giving back to the community a priority?

I live and work in Loudoun. My children are the biggest inspiration to give back to the community as we aim to set the best example for our kids. Giving back not only sets that example, but the benefits are realized immediately and improves our community in one way or another.

What is your most proud moment in regards to community involvement?

I sit on the Board of Directors for Loudoun Habitat for Humanity. The pinnacle of our mission is a home dedication ceremony for every house delivered to its new owners. Habitat provides a means to home ownership for those that would not have qualified under regular banking procedures. The kids that live in these homes are always ecstatic to show off their new, very own room.

How does giving back to the community affect your life?

Giving back keeps C2 Operations and myself more involved with the local community.  We get to see first hand the issues that need to be addressed and contribute our time and resources to remediate or improve these issues.

What advice would you give to someone who is interested in getting more involved in their community?

I would recommend finding a cause that is relevant to the induvial and pursuing relevant volunteer options. There are so many to chose from locally; Veteran work, food drives, shelters, Habitat for Humanity, and so many other organizations are setup in the area and ready for assistance.

What is a leadership tip or mantra to live by?

Leadership is not wielding authority; it’s empowering others.

Thank you Chris for answering our questions! Congratulations to all of the Community Leadership Award finalists.
