Ambassador Council Spotlight 2026: Marija Ristic
Thank you, Marija Ristic, owner of Mobile Steam Car Detailing, for your service on the Ambassador Council!
The Ambassadors Council’s mission is to strengthen the Loudoun Chamber’s network of business and nonprofit organizations by supporting their fellow Chamber members to ensure they gain the most value from their membership investment.
What inspired you to become a Loudoun Chamber Ambassador Council Member, and what does the role mean to you?
I was inspired to become a Loudoun Chamber Ambassador because I truly value building relationships and supporting the local business community. As a business owner, I have experienced firsthand how important networking, collaboration, and community support are for growth and success.
Being an Ambassador allows me to welcome new members, help them feel connected, and share the many opportunities the Chamber provides. To me, this role is about giving back, building meaningful relationships, and helping create a strong and supportive business environment where everyone can thrive.
How does your business or organization contribute to the Loudoun County community?
At Mobile Steam Car Detailing, we are committed to serving the Loudoun County community through both our business and our community involvement. We provide convenient, high-quality mobile detailing services that help residents and businesses keep their vehicles looking at their best while saving them valuable time.
Giving back is also an important part of who we are. As our business grows, we make it a priority to support local nonprofits and charitable organizations in Loudoun County through donations whenever we can. We believe that strong communities are built when local businesses support the people and organizations working to make a difference.
What is one memorable connection, moment, or experience you’ve had through the Loudoun Chamber?
One of the best parts of being involved with the Loudoun Chamber has been the opportunity to meet so many amazing people. It is honestly difficult to choose just one memorable connection because I have built relationships with many individuals who have had a positive impact on both my business and my life.
If I had to choose one person, it would be Tina Johnson. I am grateful to know her. She has helped me learn a great deal about business, but even more importantly, she has encouraged me to focus on my personal growth. Her guidance, support, and perspective have helped me become a better business owner and a better person overall.
The relationships and connections I have made through the Chamber are one of the reasons I value being a member so much.
What advice would you give to someone looking to intentionally grow their professional network in Loudoun County?
My advice would be to focus on building genuine relationships rather than simply collecting business cards. Attend events consistently, be open to meeting new people, and take the time to learn about others and their businesses.
Loudoun County has an incredibly supportive business community, and I have found that the more you get involved, the more meaningful connections you make. Some of the best opportunities come from relationships built over time through trust, authenticity, and a willingness to help others.
Most importantly, be patient and stay engaged. Networking is not about what you can gain from a single conversation—it’s about building long-term relationships that benefit everyone involved.
What Loudoun Chamber event or program do you never miss, and why does it stand out to you?
Without a doubt, the Loudoun Chamber Business @ Breakfast is an event I almost never miss—unless I am out of the country.
What I love most about it is the opportunity to connect with so many people in a short amount of time. As a business owner, those conversations and relationships are incredibly valuable. But after being a Chamber member for more than three years, the event has become much more than a networking opportunity.
Every time I walk into Business @ Breakfast, it feels a little like walking into a high school reunion—in the best possible way. I see familiar faces, catch up with friends and fellow business owners, and feel completely comfortable being myself. Because those relationships have been built over time, new connections happen naturally and conversations feel genuine rather than forced.
That sense of community and belonging is what makes this event stand out to me and keeps me coming back month after month.
How has serving as an Ambassador Council Member helped you grow as a leader—both professionally and personally?
I have only been serving as an Ambassador Council Member for a few months, so I believe the full impact will reveal itself over time. However, one thing has become very clear: I feel more connected to Loudoun County than ever before.
Through meeting new members and attending Chamber events, I have learned so much about the people, businesses, and organizations that make this community special. In fact, people in my personal life often come to me to ask what’s new in Loudoun, which always makes me smile because sometimes I feel like I grew up here.
For me, leadership is about building relationships and helping people feel welcome, and serving as an Ambassador has already given me many opportunities to do exactly that.
What is one tip or best practice you would share with new Loudoun Chamber members to help them get the most value from their membership?
My biggest piece of advice is simple: show up.
The Chamber offers so many great events, programs, and opportunities, but you must be present and involved to get the most value from your membership. At the same time, don’t feel like you need to attend everything. Be strategic and choose the events, committees, or programs that align best with your goals and interests.
Consistency is what makes the difference. Over time, people get to know you, relationships become stronger, and opportunities start to develop naturally. For example, I rarely miss Business @ Breakfast, and I believe that’s one of the reasons I feel so connected to the Chamber community today. The familiar faces, trusted relationships, and new connections didn’t happen overnight; they came from showing up consistently.
The more you engage, the more value you’ll receive from your membership.
What leadership skill has been most valuable to you in your role as a Chamber Ambassador, and how do you apply it?
I would say the most valuable skill has been the ability to connect with people. I genuinely enjoy meeting new people, learning about their businesses, and helping them feel comfortable and welcomed.
As an Ambassador, I try to introduce people to one another, share information about the Chamber, and help new members feel like they belong. Having moved to Loudoun myself, I know how valuable it is when someone takes the time to make you feel part of the community.
I apply this skill by being approachable, asking questions, listening, and looking for ways to help others make meaningful connections. Sometimes a simple introduction can lead to a valuable relationship or opportunity.
How do you balance advocating for your own business while serving the broader mission of the Chamber and the Loudoun community?
I have found that the two go hand in hand. Serving as a Chamber Ambassador is a great icebreaker because it gives me an opportunity to talk about the Chamber, the local business community, and the many resources available to members.
My focus is on supporting the Chamber’s mission, welcoming new members, and helping people make meaningful connections. When conversations naturally turn to what I do, sharing information about my business feels easy and authentic rather than forced.
I believe that when you genuinely invest in the success of the community and help others grow, people get to know and trust you. As a result, opportunities for your own business often develop naturally. For me, it’s about building relationships first and letting business follow.
What is one fun, unexpected, or little-known fact about you that most people at the Chamber may not know?
A fun fact about me is that I spent four months on the road traveling across America in a semi-truck with my husband.
Most people are surprised when they hear that! During that time, I visited places all over the country and saw a side of America that many people never experienced. It was an adventure that taught me a lot about different communities, cultures, and ways of life.
To this day, I love sharing stories from that experience, and sometimes I joke that I know more about certain parts of the country than people who have lived here their entire lives.
