Thank you to KBF by Audi Contractors for answering a few of our questions.
Congratulations on being named a finalist for Loudoun’s 2018 Small Business of the Year!
The 24th Annual Loudoun Small Business Awards will be on November 1, 2018 –Tickets/More Info Here
1. Tell us your story of how your company got to where it is today?
Getting its start in 1984, Audi Contractors was first founded as A&A Interiors by Victor and Laura Audi as a small handyman service. After many client referrals, the business naturally grew and became a full-scale remodeling company. In 2011, Jamil Audi, Victor and Laura’s eldest son, opened the family’s first design center in Downtown Leesburg under the name A&A Interiors. Then, in 2017, he opened a second location in Fairfax, VA and helped facilitate the corporate merger between A&A Interiors and Audi Contractors to form what is known today as, KBF by Audi Contractors.
KBF by Audi Contractors is a family owned and operated residential remodeling company that has now proudly served home owners in the DC Metro Area for over 30 years!
2. What would it mean to you and your company to win a Small Business Award?
We are always aiming to be the best in our field, in all aspects. The SBA award would be motivated to continue proving our expertise to not only ourselves but, the community as well and show them that our efforts and consistent focus are worthy of the award. This award wouldn’t be possible without the trust and belief of all our wonderful clients and we definitely wouldn’t be where we are without them!
3. If you weren’t running your own business/working at this business, what would you be doing?
I would be a lawyer! I’ve always had an interest in political science – in fact, that was my major in college. My number one priority is protecting people’s livelihoods and serving a purpose to defend it.
4. What book are you reading right now? / What is your favorite book?
My favorite book is “Ender’s Game” by Orson Scott, however I’m currently reading “Traction” by Gino Wickman. It’s a great book about strengthening your business and growing yourself and the team around you.
5. If you have 24-hours off, and your family was out of town, what would you do?
Ideally, I would turn off my phone and relax. The difficulty of owning a business that has a ton of moving parts all throughout the day is disconnecting from it all and that would be my one wish (for 24 hours).
6. What is the smallest thing that has made the largest impact on your business?
Learning how to plan ahead has continuously given me the step ahead that we need to stay on top of our projects. If you’re failing to plan, then you’re planning to fail and that’s always been my motto. Foresight and respect of our clients, colleagues and partners is what keeps the business running smoothly.
7. What did you want to be when you grew up as a child? / What was a childhood dream that you had?
I always wanted to be a professional football player!
8. Who is the one person that has influenced you the most in your career?
My parents!! I watched my dad in the business and I had continuous guidance and support from my mom. I was raised to be who I am as a person now and all throughout my life. They’ve supported me with every business decision I’ve made and intervened when l overstepped my boundaries, all while pushing and motivating me into success. Because of them, I am proud to say that I run an honest, ever-evolving family business with the people I love the most.
9. What is your favorite thing about running a business in Loudoun County?
The sense of community and relationships that we have with our clients is absolutely the best thing about having a business in Loudoun County!! We work with people who enjoy investing in their homes and have a genuine interest in having a relationship with us that grows. The best part about that is that once we get to know our clients and they get to know us, they refer us to their friends who are just like them – awesome! It is an absolute pleasure to work with the community in Loudoun County and we enjoy every second of creating dream spaces, happiness and friendships with them.
10. If you’re not in the office where can we find you?
When I’m not in the office, hanging out with family and friends and golfing are my go-to activities!
11. What is your favorite weekend activity in Loudoun County?
Going to festivals in the area are always a good time! Otherwise, I enjoy hiking, golfing and staying active when I can.
