BEFORE THE BOARD · OCTOBER 6
Keep Loudoun’s Word
Grandfathering Resolution · Adopted March 18, 2025 · Loudoun County Board of Supervisors
Loudoun’s future depends on decisions that keep the county affordable, competitive, fair, and honest.
On October 6, the Board of Supervisors will decide whether Loudoun honors commitments already made to the community, local workers, and employers. Tell the Board to keep Loudoun moving forward and to keep its word.
What’s happening
In March 2025, the Board changed the approval process for future data center projects. At the same time, it made a public commitment that projects already under county review could continue moving through the process under the rules in place when their applications were filed.
That commitment matters. Businesses, workers, suppliers, and local families make long-term plans based on the rules and expectations established by local government. Changing those rules after the fact puts the County in legal and financial jeopardy, disrupts planned investment, and sends the wrong message to every employer considering Loudoun County.
On October 6, the Board has another chance to act fairly and consistently by allowing projects and investments already underway to continue progressing. Loudoun can update standards for the future without going back on commitments already made.

Take Action
Supervisors count messages from their own constituents. A short note in your own words — who you are, where you live, why the county’s word matters to you — carries more weight than any petition. We’ve drafted a starting point. Make it yours.
