This was a monumental year for transportation investment in the Commonwealth. Beginning during the General Assembly Session with the leadership of the Secretary of Transportation and our legislators, the Transportation “Omnibus” Bill was passed. Among many important benefits of the bill was the new direct for funding Northern Virginia Transportation projects. But in March things changed quickly, as COVID-19 brought the economy to a standstill and ground to a halt major revenue sources such as car sales and the gas tax. During our event we’ll cover the brief and quick history of this bill, where we stand today, and where we go from here.
For this special transportation update we will be joined by three important leaders on the issue, including Secretary of Transportation, Shannon Valentine; Chair of the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority and of the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors, Phyllis Randall; and finally the Executive Director of the Northern Virginia Transportation Alliance, Jason Stanford.
