Most government contractors are well aware of the upcoming requirement for the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC). CMMC is a unified standard for implementing cybersecurity across the Department of Defense (DoD) industrial base and supply chain. Soon, any contractor doing business will be required to be assessed and have achieved a specified level under the CMMC standard.
On September 28th, 2020, an interim rule change to the DFARS was released that adds requirements for contractors to submit a NIST800-171 self-assessment, and allows the inclusion of CMMC requirements in future contracts. While training is being conducted for Provisional Assessors now, the full program and certification of final assessors is not too far away. So now is the time to prepare!
Mr. Neel Gopalani of Aristi Technologies, and Mr. Scott Edwards of Summit 7 Systems, two cybersecurity experts who have been at the forefront of the CMMC standard, will share with us their view of the requirements, the current status and key dates for upcoming CMMC milestones, and provide you with effective steps you should be taking now to get ready for your NIST 800-171 self-assessment and CMMC third-party assessment.
