The need for affordable housing for Loudoun’s workforce has reached a critical point.
Here in Loudoun nearly one third of households are cost burden, meaning they spend over 30% of their income on their home and may have difficulty affording necessities such as food, clothing, transportation, and medical care. 78% of families who earn $70k per year are considered “cost burdened” by their household expenses.
It is critical to address this issue in order to attract and retain a strong workforce, including teachers, public safety personnel, young professionals, and seniors.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to hear from U.S. Senator Tim Kaine on such a timely and important topic of addressing the Nation’s housing affordability crisis. Following our keynote speaker, we will hear from a panel of regional experts on how public and private solutions can be leveraged to address housing affordability in Loudoun.
Keynote Speaker: U.S. Senator Tim Kaine
Panelists: Nina Janopaul, President & CEO, (APAH) Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing; Kim Hart, President, Good Works LLC; Pat Carey, Chief of Program Strategy/Chief Financial Officer, Virginia Housing Development Authority (VHDA)
