What is the State of the Economy in 2026

Hear from the experts on how the regional and national economy is reacting to global uncertainty

From geopolitical conflict, rising energy, and labor costs to rapid changes in Federal policies, Loudoun’s economic landscape is being shaped by powerful forces on a global scale.

To help you better understand how these forces are impacting your business and our regional economy, make plans to join the the Loudoun Chamber for the annual “State of the Economy” forum, featuring two of the region’s most influential economic leaders:

  • Tom Barkin, President & CEO, Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond
  • Marisa Flowers, COO & EVP, Strategy, Greater Washington Partnership

Our speakers will address many of the issues impacting our region’s and America’s economic fortunes, including disruptions to global energy markets caused by the Iranian conflict, which is adding new pressure on inflation and consumer spending. At the same time, changes to the Federal Reserve Bank’s leadership and future monetary policy are raising critical questions about interest rates, growth, and investment strategy.

While Mr. Barkin will provide an insider’s perspective on how the Federal Reserve is navigating the current economic currents, including how those challenges are influencing inflation, labor markets, and rate decisions.

Marisa Flowers will present the Greater Washington Partnership’s “Region Rising framework,” a forward-looking strategy driving economic competitiveness across the Greater Washington region—focusing on talent, innovation, and regional collaboration to ensure long-term growth.

In a moment where uncertainty is high, but opportunity remains, the Loudoun Chamber’s State of the Economy will give you the clarity and insight you need to lead with confidence.

Directions: The event is located at the Belmont Country Club Clubhouse – use the front gate from Russell Branch Pkwy (across from Whole Foods shopping center) to enter the Country Club and let the security guard know that you’re attending the Chamber event. After entering the main gate, turn right at the roundabout and then follow the road up to the Manor/Clubhouse. Park wherever you would like. The event is in the upstairs ballroom.
