Financial Management and Operational Effectiveness for Nonprofits
Community-serving nonprofit entities are invited to join us for a dynamic capacity-building training, focused on financial management practices and operational effectiveness that strengthen nonprofit organizations.
This engaging session will cover a wide range of critical topics, including:
- the implementation of sound fiscal controls,
- revenue diversification strategies,
- budget formulation and management,
- financial forecasting, audit readiness, vendor and contract oversight, and
- the integration of technology solutions to streamline financial operations.
Additionally, the session will explore the strategic role of financial advisors in nonprofit governance and decision-making. The training aims to offer practical insights for nonprofit leaders.
Intended Audience: Nonprofit Executive Directors / CEOs, CFOs, program leaders, and board members looking to strengthen their knowledge and planning efforts.
About the Presenter: Clifford Yee, Executive VP & CFO, Northern Virginia Family Services
Clifford Yee serves as Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer at Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS), where he leads finance, technology, procurement, facilities, risk management, and social enterprise functions for the $40M organization. With more than 20 years of experience spanning the consulting, financial services, and nonprofit sectors, Cliff brings a unique cross-sector perspective to financial leadership and capacity building.
Before joining NVFS, Cliff led social impact consulting at Raffa (now CBIZ) and oversaw over $300M in community investments as SVP of Community Affairs at Capital One. He holds an MBA from the Peter F. Drucker School of Management and multiple certificates in nonprofit leadership and strategy from institutions including Harvard Business School and UC Berkeley.
Cliff is a past Chair of the Virginia Governor’s Advisory Board on Service & Volunteerism, an adjunct faculty member at George Mason University, and the recipient of numerous honors for leadership and service. His passion lies in equipping mission-driven organizations with the financial tools they need to thrive.
