What is your favorite part of being an Ambassador?

The chamber has been such a huge part of my success in building a business, I enjoy working with other businesses to get the most out of what the chamber has to offer. I could not have built Leesburg Lifestyle without the connections I have made through the chamber, and I like to spread the word by helping other owners make the most of their membership.

What makes your business unique in your industry?

There are two:

  1. Leesburg Lifestyle: Our quality. The stories we tell. Our connection with the community. Loudoun County deserves a high-end magazine about the remarkable things and people here and that is what we produce.
  2. Top Rail Fence: I started this business because I knew we could lead with communication and service. Fences are an investment, and we want to make sure we take care of our customers and not only build a great fence but show up on time and do what we say we are going to do.

How has Chamber membership benefitted your business?

I moved to Loudoun not knowing anyone in the business community. I had always been in international business, and I moved from out of state. I knew I wanted to get out of corporate life and start a business here and the chamber provided the connections and structure I needed to get up and running. I met our editor, Melinda Gipson, through Pam Jones’ LeadShare and many of my advertising partners are Chamber members. You get to know people and there is a trust and relationship formed if you put in the time and get involved.

What is your single best piece of advice to new Members, so they can take full advantage of their membership?

Get out and meet people. Go to the Business @ Breakfast events. Go to all the LeadShare groups and find fit. Be active. Set up 1-to-1 meetings with other members. If you show up people will help you. It is the best Chamber I have ever seen but you must put in the time.

What do you like about doing business here in Loudoun County?

Loudoun is a great entrepreneurial area. Other businesses genuinely want to help other business owners.
