Tell us the story of your business/nonprofit and how it’s evolved.
After 35 years of running multiple businesses, I saw a gap in the marketplace. I identified an essential missing link; business owners knew what needed to be done but didn’t know the ‘How To.’ I struggled for a decade to figure out how to do what was needed to build and scale my business. I saw other women struggling with the same issue. I knew we could bring value and make a difference by teaching women business owners the foundational framework for building a sustainable business that would survive uncertain market conditions through our Business Coaching Programs and the Women’s CEO Business School.
What are you most proud of when it comes to your team?
What I am most proud of when it comes to my company’s team is their unwavering dedication and collaborative spirit. Each member brings unique strengths and perspectives, and together, their commitment to our mission and to supporting one another is truly inspiring.
In what ways do you give back to the Loudoun community?
Our company was founded on a philanthropic mindset, with giving back as a core value. We donate 10% of our revenue to support local community and youth programs. We also offer a matching gift program for our employees.
Our CEO has served on 8 community boards, often as Chairman. Serving 11 years on the Loudoun First Responders board, now serving as President. She serves on the Loudoun Chamber Board, the advisory board for Mobile Hope, and an advisor for BetterALife. Since January, we have donated nearly $50,000 to fund educational programs, scholarships, and emergency youth shelters. We are in the process of launching our own Foundation in 2025 to support women business owners.
What would it mean to you and your business to win a Small Business Award?
Winning a Small Business Award would be an incredible honor for us. As a woman-owned business, it would validate our hard work, dedication, and the unique challenges we’ve overcome. The recognition would not only boost our team’s morale but also recognize and honor all the women business owners that we have supported in our business programs. It would open doors to new opportunities, partnerships, and growth, allowing us to continue making a positive impact on the small business community.
Who is the one person that has influenced you the most in your career?
I cannot call out one singular person, there have been so many in my 35-year entrepreneurial journey.
What did you want to be when you grew up as a child?
A nurse or teacher. I became an ER nurse. 😊
If you’re not in the office, where can we find you?
Getting away on weekend excursions with my hubby exploring the amazing local spots that our state has to offer. Another big passion that takes up a lot of time is my philanthropic volunteer work.
How do you see your business evolving in the next 5 years?
In the next five years, I envision my business growing significantly in both scope and impact. We aim to expand our product line and reach new markets, we want to be known as the go-to source for all things women in business. Additionally, we plan to strengthen our community engagement, ensuring that our growth benefits not only our business but also the wider community. Ultimately, our goal is to lead our industry by empowering women business owners to build and grow sustainable businesses, creating a lasting impact that benefits their families for generations to come.
