Press Release: Northern Virginia Regional Commission, Northern Virginia Chambers Partner to Support Federal Employees/Contractors Impacted by Potential Government Shutdown

Local businesses are invited to offer discounts or special offers to support the families of affected federal workers or contractors

Lansdowne, VA – The Loudoun Chamber and Northern Virginia’s other major chambers of commerce, together with the Northern Virginia Regional Commission are teaming up to support Federal government employees and government contractors that will suffer financial hardships if the Federal government shutdown occurs after November 17th.

The Chambers and Regional Commission are inviting local businesses to offer their neighbors and affected Northern Virginians a discount or other offer, in the event the Federal government shuts down later this month.

“Without taking sides in the government spending debate, this partnership is focused on supporting our friends and neighbors who may experience financial pain if their jobs are impacted by a possible government shutdown,” said Loudoun Chamber President Tony Howard.
