Advancing the Mission of CBP

Join us on November 30th for Loudoun GovCon’s next event “Advancing the Mission of Customs and Border Protection” featuring Keynote Speaker Sonny Bhagowalia, Customs & Border Protection’s Chief Information Officer. CBP is one of the world’s largest law enforcement organizations, with over 60,000 employees.

The agency is responsible for protecting the United States’ borders from terrorism, illegal immigration, and contraband. CBP’s Northern Virginia Office of Information Technology in Ashburn will be home to 3,700 engineers, technicians, scientists and support personnel once fully staffed.

Mr. Bhagowalia is responsible for leading the agency’s transformation into a data-driven organization that uses technology to secure the nation’s borders.

In this program, we will be discussing the agency’s upcoming IT priorities, modernization, and providing a technological infrastructure to an agency located in every corner of the country. Mr. Bhagowalia has over 20 years of experience in the technology industry, and he has held senior positions at companies such as IBM and Microsoft.
