Ambassador Spotlight: Blair Ellis, The Fortessa Store
Thank you to Blair Ellis for all you do as a Chamber Ambassador! Check out The Fortessa Store website here.
What is your favorite part of being an Ambassador?
The thing I enjoy most about being an Ambassador is making great connections with fellow Chamber members. I have the opportunity to teach new members about all the Chamber has to offer and build on my relationships with old friends.
What makes your business unique in your industry?
Fortessa Tableware Solutions is a global leader in the tableware industry. At the local level, the Fortessa Store provides quality tableware to local restaurants and hotels; as well as the home consumer. Being able to work with both B2C and B2B customers is a very important part of our business.
How has Chamber membership benefitted your business?
As a Chamber member, we have been able to connect with local non-profits whom we support in a variety of ways through volunteering and in-kind donations. Our chamber membership has also helped to spread the word that our storefront, in One Loudoun, is open to the home consumer and not exclusively for local businesses.
What is your single best piece of advice to new Members, so they can take full advantage of their membership?
The one piece of advice I would give to a new Chamber member is “what you give to your Chamber experience you will receive in return.” Attend the monthly networking breakfasts, Loudoun On Tap events, and visit the Leadshare group lunches. If you’re nervous or hesitant about attending an event, set a small goal like making one new connection, and always keep an eye out for Ambassadors to help you.
What do you like about doing business here in Loudoun County?
I love doing business in Loudoun County because I get to experience the growth firsthand. As an Ambassador, we are always meeting new entrepreneurs and businesses that have chosen to do business in Loudoun County, for one reason or another, and I love being able to be a part of their introduction to Loudoun.
