The team at Stone Ridge Oral & Facial Surgery

Tell us your story of how your business evolved into what it is today?

Quite simply, after relocating to Loudoun County, our only goal was to provide THE BEST surgical care to our community by channeling all our energy and focus on each patient,  one at a time. Taking small steps to ensure perfection on a daily basis, we found ourselves growing and reaching one small milestone after another until reaching our highest pinnacle yet…becoming a finalist for the Loudoun County Small Business of the Year Award!

What are you most proud of about your team?

Every “well-oiled machine” relies on all the individual parts, working together, to make great strides and have a true impact in its respective industry…without every member of our team working in tandem, we would never be able to function at the level and caliber our community has known to expect from us every day.  Our team’s ability to understand and master all the nuances from insurance coverages and benefits and our surgical staff streamlining the surgical experience from initial consultation to final post operative visit,  we have been able to create an experience for our patients and our team that is truly unmatched in the oral surgery profession.

In what ways do you give back to the community?

Our practice has made annual commitments with Freedom, John Champe, Lightridge,  Briar Woods, Rock Ridge, PVI and many other schools and organizations over the years and the list keeps growing! We are proud to provide financial support to our local schools and not-for-profits who provide for those less fortunate as we have been so blessed by our community to be entrusted with their care. We recently started a Community Scholarship Program for high school seniors to encourage students and create a path for them to give back to their community as well.

What would it mean to you and your business to win a Small Business Award?

Winning this award would be the ultimate recognition of our staff who give 100% every single day, regardless of their own personal struggles. Our team has risen well above the occasion during COVID and set new standards of excellence in providing patient care during these difficult times. They never slowed down or shied away from a challenge and have selflessly committed themselves to being the warm, welcoming faces our community needed over the last 18 months! I am humbled by my team’s dedication and this award would serve as another bar for them to raise again in the future.

What is the smallest thing that has made the largest impact on your business?

Our commitment to serving the Loudoun community has steadily become our distinguishing core value in our daily operations. From supporting our athletes, musicians and thespians by simply attending various events, volunteering as a science fair judge and presenting awards for the Loudoun County Regional Science and Engineering Fair to providing reduced fee services for those who qualify, you will see that everything we do, big and small, will have a huge impact on our business and community at large!

Who is the one person that has influenced you the most in your career?

By far, the most difficult question to answer…I do not believe there is a single individual who has influenced me the most in my career but certainly many, who at various stages of my life, have guided me in one direction or another towards our current path. Family members,  friends, clergy, classmates, supervising surgeons during residency, professional colleagues, and community members have all had a hand in our growth and development and so while all deserve recognition, there are just too many to personally identify.

What is your favorite thing about running a business in Loudoun County?

Working and living in Loudoun County has given us that “small town feeling” as I routinely see my patients and team members at the school drop off line, supermarkets, soccer fields and restaurants on a regular basis. There’s a true sense of family and community when you consistently run into someone you know every time you’re out and about in Loudoun!

What did you want to be when you grew up as a child?

As my dad was a general dentist, I always thought I would pursue a career in healthcare but wasn’t really sure what specifically. It wasn’t until he passed away in my second year of college that I decided to take the dental entrance exam and follow in his career path.

What is one book that changed your life and why?

“Good to Great” by Jim Collins. I began to realize that with every chapter, our team and I were already implementing and excelling in all the points Collins addressed. It wasn’t so much of an eye opener of what we needed to do but that we had already, from the very beginning, had set the groundwork and foundation to build towards a great company. This gave me great comfort knowing that we were building something very special here and motivated me to push forward with our vision to be THE oral surgery practice in Loudoun County for our patients and team members.

If you’re not in the office where can we find you/what is another passion you have?

You can easily find me with my wife Basma, and our amazing son Daniel either on the soccer field or at various community events from South Riding to Leesburg or in one of many local restaurants exploring a new menu!

How do you see your business evolving in the next 5 years?

In addition to keeping the traditions of excellent patient care and a fun, professional environment for our staff, we hope to continue advancing our surgical capabilities by leveraging new technologies and incorporating it into everyday practice, ensuring that our practice is not only on the cutting edge, but being the very definition of the cutting edge!
