Virginia is regularly named the “Best State For Business” thanks to our pro-business regulations, diversity of industry, and most important access to qualified talent. The pandemic has upended our workforce as unemployment levels have peaked at triple normal levels and many industries have been brought to their knees. During this time other industries such as technology, financial services, and government contractors continue to thrive keeping the Commonwealth’s economy running.
Join us at this year’s “State of the Workforce” featuring Dr. Megan Healy, Virginia’s Chief Workforce Advisor, who will share with us the impact of the pandemic on Virginia’s labor force and her priorities for recovery. Along with Dr. Healy, we will be joined by Steven Partridge, Vice President for Strategic Partnerships and Workforce Innovation, Northern Virginia Community College, for an opportunity to learn how Virginia’s largest community college is preparing our workforce for high demand jobs in information technology and the trades.

Expert Insights on Housing, the Economy and New Comp Plan
On October 21st, 2020, we joined the Loudoun real estate industry’s top leaders and decision-makers for the annual “State of the Loudoun Market” where you were able gain the cutting-edge insight into the local economic climate and real estate market that businesses need to compete in today’s rapidly changing, and often chaotic, environment.
We heard from Loudoun’s Economic Development Director Buddy Rizer and Dr. Terry L. Clower, Director of the Center for Regional Analysis at George Mason University, as they offered expert insight into the local, national and global economies and discuss the challenges and the opportunities facing Loudoun.
We held our 38th Annual Loudoun Chamber Classic at the award-winning Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf course, The Club at Creighton Farms. This course is one of the finest on the Eastern Seaboard, and is nothing short of spectacular. We are proud to have produced Loudoun County’s premier business golf tournament for the past three decades, and we hope you and your colleagues will join us in 2021.
For the past 9 years, this casual, networking tournament pairs you and a partner against a field of over 30 two-man teams in a progressive four month tournament. Designed with the busy professional in mind, each event consists of a 9-hole round after work, followed by a short networking reception to get you home in time to put the kids to bed. The team with the lowest cumulative score after four events is the champion. Check back in 2021 for information on our 10th season.
Small Business Awards
For 26 years, the Loudoun Small Business Awards have been the most prestigious honors celebrating the best small businesses, entrepreneurs and nonprofit organizations in our Loudoun community. We hope you will join us to congratulate finalists and winners in 9 categories, including the top prize, the 2020 Small Business of the Year. Winners are announced in front of a live audience of Loudoun’s top business and community leaders.
Superhero 5k & Kids Fun Run
This past Fall we had our Virtual Superhero 5K! Our 6th Annual Superhero 5K was a virtual race from October 22nd – 25th! Runners completed a course of their choosing during the race window. Proceeds from the race will be given to the Loudoun Chamber Foundation to benefit local nonprofits.
The Loudoun Chamber will honor local heroes, from public safety personnel to ordinary citizens, for their courageous, often lifesaving actions in 2019 at the 35th Annual Valor Awards. The entire Loudoun business community is invited to watch these Annual Valor Awards virtually to help honor these dedicated public servants for their selfless acts of heroism and commitment to protecting our families, our neighbors and our community.
Do you know someone who deserves to be nominated for the 2021 Valor Awards? This would include any incident from 2020 where someone went above and beyond for our community.
Our first responders spend each and every workday putting their lives on the line to ensure that others remain safe. Being recognized through the Valor Awards by the citizens we protect is the highest compliment any first responder can receive.
