Tuesday School: Financial Exit Planning for Your Business

Financial Exit Planning for Your Business – Tuesday, May 25th at 12pm *VIRTUAL*

Why you need to develop an exit plan BEFORE you are ready to retire or sell your business

We are all going to exit our business one day – voluntarily or involuntarily. It is never too early to start planning. You will want to know what you need to do to maximize your potential when you do go to market. The statistics on businesses surviving through multiple generations are staggering. Just making it through the second generation is a milestone event for a business. The good news is business owners can buck these trends with proper planning. This presentation helps entrepreneurs understand the steps to planning for the eventual transfer of the business. This touches on knowing the value of their business, understanding the available exit options, and how to choose and prepare the appropriate successor.

Your Instructor for the class : Stephanie Gumm

Stephanie Gumm

I strive to help impact lives. While I was raised with a private school education, lived in a beautiful part of Baltimore and spent summers at Rehobeth Beach in Delaware, my parents did not save for retirement nor were they prepared for the long term illnesses that befell them. They worked hard raising me and my 2 siblings but did not have the proper guidance to invest in their own future and their last days. I am passionate about helping people and in particular women, small business owners, and dentists plan their dreams and make them happen using state of the art technology and platforms for financial planning, retirement income, business planning, tax planning strategies and portfolio analysis and review. For my business owners, and I have been a business owner for over 25 years, I start the analysis with the exit strategy. After all, we will all be separated from our businesses one day – that is guaranteed. I complete the total financial analysis with:

Exit planning strategies

Advisory services

Retirement income planning

Employee benefit and retention strategies

Business continuation strategies

Financial protection tools

Estate planning

I want you to feel that no one is more committed to your goals than me and you.

In my free time I am Vice Chair of the Board at Dandelion Meadow, an endeavor to help women who are victims of addiction and human trafficking. I am a highly active member of St Paul’s Episcopal Church and helped found our outreach program Love For Children. I enjoy gardening, hiking, travel, and spending time in the Virginia mountains. I live in Sharpsburg, Md with my husband and two twin children.
