Since we are an Internal Medicine Direct Primary Care medical practice with personalized care and smaller panel of patients, we have never needed a waiting room. This allows us to AVOID having people next to each other coughing and sneezing in a waiting room, which is what you get in traditional doctor’s office/supermarket/pharmacy/doc-in-a-box clinic. The benefit of our setup is especially apparent now, allowing seamless preventative measures during this pandemic. Emergency rooms and urgent care clinics are usually already overwhelmed with patients during the winter months. Getting a flu shot can help avoid getting sick and prevent from co-mingling flu patients with COVID-19 patients this season.
