Speaker Ray Owens of Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond presents:
“The Outlook for the U.S. Economy in 2021:
The Pandemic Still Looms Large”
About The Presentation:
2020 was a year of unprecedented economic volatility owing to the COVID pandemic. Policy moves at the federal, state and local level responded to the emerging situation, with many unknowns. By some measures, economic growth largely rebounded from the shock, but other measures of economic activity continue the adjustment process. As we enter 2021, events and economic policies continue to be centered on the pandemic, though forecasters generally look for a far different pattern this year compared to last year.
About This Month’s Speaker:
Ray is a policy advisor in the Research Department at the Richmond Fed. He has participated in the bank’s monetary policy effort over the majority of his 37 years at the Fed. In addition, Ray frequently gives presentations on Economic Conditions and Monetary Policy to a wide variety of groups.
