Internationally Acclaimed Local Estate Wine | Gourmet Food Samplings | Exciting Raffles
“Corks for a Cause”, is a fun and unique not to be missed fundraising event attended by over 150 community leaders who come together to support the Loudoun Child Advocacy Center(CAC), a program of LAWS; serving victims in Loudoun County since 1984. The event features an exciting raffle, internationally acclaimed local wine at Breaux Vineyard’s picturesque 404 acre property, gourmet food samplings, and entertainment.
LAWS opened the Loudoun CAC in 2008 to provide a child-friendly location for victims of child abuse to be interviewed by a specially trained forensic interviewer; to coordinate child abuse investigations with investigators, prosecutors, mental health providers and other professionals; and to make sure that every child victim of abuse has the opportunity to receive services to help them cope with the trauma they have suffered. Since it opened in 2008, the Loudoun CAC has served more than 1,900 child victims of abuse. Last year, we served 267 children. The majority of these children were victims of sexual abuse who were victimized by someone that they know and trusted.
