Equipping Every Loudoun Business to Adopt a Reopening Strategy Post COVID-19

A Note from President & CEO Tony Howard

Dear Loudoun Business owner:

Like much of America, Loudoun County has experienced social and economic trauma as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and its impacts on our community.

This trauma has been caused by the government-imposed restrictions on most commercial and social activities, intended to prevent further spread of COVID-19.

While the rest of the Commonwealth will begin Phase One of business reopening on May 15th, Governor Ralph Northam has granted Loudoun County and Northern Virginia’s other jurisdictions the authority to maintain heavy restrictions on most businesses through May 28th (statement here).  Hopefully by then, conditions will have improved enough to convince the Governor to allow further easing of COVID-19 restrictions.

It is now the time for Loudoun’s business and community leaders to begin to fully prepare all businesses to adopt their own reopening strategies that are phased to meet the Governor’s guidelines.

To address this need, the Loudoun Chamber has launched the “Loudoun: Open For Business” Task Force and developed a reopening tool kit of best practices and reliable guidance for business owners. We have curated a wide selection of best practices to equip every Loudoun business to adopt their own unique reopening strategy.

These resources are only advisory, and every business should develop strategies based on their own unique circumstances and in consultation with legal, financial and insurance counsel.

As you draft your reopening plan, consider focusing on these essential issues for most businesses:

1.  Protect Your Business

2.  Protect Your Workplace

3.  Protecting Your Employees

4.  Communicate Your Plans, Practices and Policies

We are here for you and your business as we all navigate this trying time, and hope these resources are helpful to you. View the Chamber’s Reopening Plan Here
