Spotlight on the Finalist: King Pinz

Thank you to Diane & Gary Reedy, owners of King Pinz, for answering a few questions.

Spotlight on the Finalists: King Pinz – Diane & Gary Reedy, Owners
Finalists for Entertainment Business of the Year

1.  What would it mean to you and your company to win a Small Business Award?

We have been nominated every year since we have been open and have never won (5 years). We never go out and solicit votes or use our social media sites to get votes, so it has always been an honor to be nominated and we would love to win the award one year so that all of our hard work and charity in the community is rewarded.

2.  What business person has influenced you the most?

I would say that I haven’t been really influenced by any one in business. I started my first family entertainment business almost 25 years ago in Fairfax County with the first laser tag center that had a large playground and an outside mini golf course. At one time we had 5 centers from a water park and go karts to a carousel in the center court of Springfield Mall. King Pinz was an idea that was born out of the other centers that I built and opened.

3.  What book are you reading right now?

I don’t have much time to read but my last book was the “The Killing of Kennedy”

4.  If you weren’t running your own business, what would you be doing?

I have been working my whole life and if I had the ability to retire and play golf and go to the beach whenever I wanted that would be great.

5.  If you had a full 24 hours off, and your family was out of town, what would you do?

Diane and I would love to have the freedom to travel and do some consulting and get out of the Northern Virginia winters that we have been in our whole life.
