The General Assembly went back to Richmond but I feel fine

The General Assembly returned to Richmond yesterday to vote on all the vetoes and amendments made by the Governor to the bills they passed earlier this year.

The bad news, generally, the General Assembly isn’t very successful at overriding gubernatorial tinkering.  In fact, for the second year running, they failed to override a single veto.  Truthfully, that is not too surprising as overriding a veto is a deliberately hard thing to do.

The good news, NONE of the bills we fought so hard to pass were vetoed or altered by the Governor.

I’m generally a cynic when it comes to elected officials doing the right thing.  But, I’m scoring 2015 as a big ONE for common sense and good government.
