Eye on Loudoun: Thank you and Welcome!

I’d like to begin by thanking three outstanding gentlemen who have devoted many years to serving Loudoun County in the Virginia House of Delegates: Delegate Randy Minchew, Delegate Tag Greason, and Delegate Jim LeMunyon. The Loudoun Chamber had a great working relationship with these public servants, and we wish them the best in the coming year.
Next, a big congratulations to three new members of the House of Delegates who will represent portions of Loudoun County in the General Assembly! I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know a bit about them.
Wendy Gooditis will now be representing the 10th District, which includes parts of Loudoun County, Clarke County, and Frederick County. Wendy moved to Virginia after she married her husband Chris. She received a Masters in Education from Shenandoah University and taught in the Clarke County public school system. To help put her two children through college, she became a realtor in 2013. David Reid is going to be the new delegate in the 32nd District, which is entirely within Loudoun County in the Ashburn and Leesburg area. David is a veteran, having served for 23 years in the U.S. Navy Reserves as a Naval Intelligence Officer. David and his family have lived in Ashburn since 2000, where they attend the Arcola United Methodist Church. David runs his own small business, Rockbridge Consulting, and also volunteers in the community as a soccer coach and referee. The 67th District covers portions of eastern Loudoun and western Fairfax, and is now represented by Karrie Delaney. Karrie lives in Fairfax with her husband and two young children, and is the former Chair of the Fairfax County Library Board and a former member of the Fairfax County Citizen Corps Council. Karrie has been focused on public service ever since moving to Northern Virginia; she worked for a non-profit dedicated to ending sex trafficking, and also worked with international NGOs to end the abuse of women around the world. Returning to the General Assembly this year to represent Loudoun in the House will be Delegate John Bell (87th), Delegate Kathleen Murphy (34th), Delegate Jennifer Boysko (86th), and Delegate Dave LaRock (33rd). In the Senate, we still have Senator Dick Black (13th), Senator Barbara Favola (31st), Senator Jill Vogel (27th), and Senator Jennifer Wexton (33rd).
