There has been a Chamber of Commerce in Loudoun County for almost as long as the county has been in existence.

Early records indicate there was a Leesburg Chamber of Commerce as early as the 1920s. Official Chamber records indicate the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce was formally incorporated in December of 1968. At that time, membership hovered somewhere over 100 businesses and the membership grew steadily through the 70s and 80s to approximately 600 members. After the recession of the early 90s and the beginning of the rapid growth of the county in the mid nineties, the membership grew at the swift rate of 20% a year. Currently the Loudoun County Chamber is the largest chamber in Northern Virginia , and has over 1,300 members.

Historically the Chamber has always been a private non-profit business association accepting no public tax dollars in delivery of its services. Today, the Chamber is still self-funded and has paid off all of its debt.
